Let me start of by saying this was my first Terence Malick film, for some reason or another I never got down to watching any of his other work. I had read a lot about Tree of Life before hand, so I knew what to expect. To say this film is ambitious does not do it justice. The only thing I’ve ever seen like it is 2001 Space Odyssey. In fact, its probably too ambitious for its own good. The premise of the film is relatively straightforward, but the way it is delivered to us makes the movie a cryptic, challenging, pretentious and bewildering experience.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2011) Review
Another movie being overlooked thanks to a limited release is the horror comedy Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. In fact, limited release is a bit of an understatement as, apart from film festivals dating way back to January 2010, the film is yet to see the light of day in America; this despite already being released in Kazakhstan, Estonia, Russia and Germany amongst others. Strange stuff. Nonetheless, the film was a bit hit at film festivals and is currently scheduled for a September 2011 American release.

Game of Thrones Season 1
This is not a typical review but more my thoughts on the first season of HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones. When I first heard about Game of Thrones, I was excited. I don’t know why, but I was. All I had seen were a few teaser images and I was already drooling. It was a dark, epic drama set in medieval times with gore, nudity and super natural elements. That sounds like every nerd’s dream. Everyone on the internet was talking about how epic and remarkable this new show was going to be. People’s minds were already half made up. I was pumped.

Portal 2 Review PS3
The first Portal hit us all like a bolt from the blue. Hidden away in Valve’s Orange Box along with classics like Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2, many considered it to be something of an afterthought; a gimmicky puzzle game thrown in amongst heavyweight game franchises. However, the game surprised us all and it’s challenging puzzles, witty humour and cake related lies had us all wanting more.

Who are you and what are you doing on the internet?
Hello.
The name’s Kermz. Mr. Kermz. I'm grumpy, cynical and pessimistic. My philosophy in life: no matter how good something is, there's always something bad about it. I like to find that something bad. That's not to say I don't appreciate quality, I'm just fussy.
